Willow TV $850,000 VPPA Class Action Settlement

If you subscribed to Willow TV and watched prerecorded videos on Willow.tv, you may be eligible for a cash payment from an $850,000 class action settlement.

The lawsuit claimed Willow TV improperly shared or made accessible subscribers’ personally identifiable information without consent. While Willow TV denies any wrongdoing, it agreed to settle the case to avoid the costs and risks of continued litigation.

To receive a payment, eligible class members must submit a claim by July 21, 2026.

What happened?

The lawsuit alleged that Times Internet (UK) Ltd., doing business as Willow TV, violated the federal Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) and California law by sharing or making accessible subscribers’ personally identifiable information with third parties without their consent.

According to the complaint, this involved information connected to subscribers who viewed prerecorded video content on Willow.tv.

Who is eligible?

You may qualify if you:

  • Subscribed to Willow TV, and
  • Watched prerecorded videos on Willow.tv
  • Between July 20, 2021, and September 22, 2023

 

If you received a settlement notice, you may already have the information needed to submit a claim.

How much money can you get?

Eligible class members who submit a valid claim can receive a cash payment from the $850,000 total settlement fund.

 

Your final payment amount will depend on:

  • The number of valid claims submitted
  • Court-approved fees, costs, and other settlement expenses

 

The settlement administrator will calculate payments after claims are reviewed.

How to file a claim?

To receive a payment, you must submit a valid claim form by July 21, 2026.

You will need the Unique ID and PIN from the settlement notice you received. If you cannot locate your ID and PIN, you can contact the Settlement Administrator and request them by providing your full name and mailing address.
