Former tenants and guarantors at certain Florida student housing properties may be eligible for cash refunds, waived balances, and credit report corrections under a $300,000 class action settlement involving The Collier Companies and Paradigm Properties Management Team.
Claims are now open, and the deadline to act is February 24, 2026. Below is a simple breakdown of what this settlement is about and how to take action.
Why is there a lawsuit?
This class action lawsuit alleged that The Collier Companies Inc. and Paradigm Properties Management Team Inc. violated Florida law by demanding:
Accelerated rent
Accelerated late fees
after a residential lease had already ended.
The plaintiffs claimed these demands violated the Florida Residential Landlord Tenant Act and the Florida Consumer Collections Practices Act.
The companies deny any wrongdoing, but agreed to a $300,000 settlement to resolve the claims and avoid further litigation.
