If you recently purchased a STIHL BR 800 backpack blower, here’s what you need to know. A new recall has been issued, and while no injuries have been reported, the issue is serious enough that owners should stop using the blower immediately.
What’s Being Recalled and Why
STIHL is recalling its BR 800 Magnum backpack blowers (models X and C-E) because the fan wheel inside the blower can break apart, which may lead to a laceration hazard.
The company has not received any reports of injuries, but the defect can cause sharp pieces of the fan wheel to break loose—so the recall is being handled proactively.
