Automatic Payments – SkinSpirit Wage & Hour Settlement: California Employees May Be Eligible for a Cash Payment

If you worked as a nonexempt employee for SkinSpirit Essential LLC in California between Oct. 9, 2020, and March 1, 2026, you could be eligible for a payment from a $490,000 class action settlement.

The best part? Most eligible employees do not need to file a claim. If you qualify, your payment will be mailed automatically. You’ll just want to make sure your mailing address is up to date and review your notice for accuracy.

Why this lawsuit exists?

The lawsuit alleged that SkinSpirit Essential LLC violated California labor laws by failing to properly compensate employees.

The claims included allegations involving:

  • Unpaid minimum wages, overtime, and contractual wages
  • Missed meal and rest breaks
  • Inaccurate wage statements
  • Failure to pay all wages owed when employment ended
  • Unreimbursed business expenses
  • Failure to provide employment records

The lawsuit also included claims for civil penalties under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA).

SkinSpirit denies all allegations but agreed to settle the case to avoid the costs, risks, and uncertainty of continued litigation.

Who qualifies?

You may be included if all of the following apply:

  • You worked for SkinSpirit Essential LLC in California.
  • You were classified as a nonexempt employee.
  • You worked at any time between Oct. 9, 2020, and March 1, 2026.

The settlement includes two groups:

Class Members

  • All eligible nonexempt employees who worked during the Class Period of Oct. 9, 2020, through March 1, 2026.

Aggrieved Employees (PAGA)

  • Eligible nonexempt employees who worked during the PAGA Period of June 6, 2023, through April 15, 2026.
  • Some employees may qualify for both types of payments.
  • Eligibility and payment amounts are based on SkinSpirit’s employment records.

How much can you receive?

The settlement creates a $490,000 settlement fund. After court-approved deductions for attorneys’ fees, litigation expenses, administration costs, service awards, and PAGA penalties, the remaining funds (estimated at approximately $313,750) will be distributed to eligible employees.

Your payment depends on your employment history.

  • Class Payments are calculated based on the number of workweeks you worked during the Class Period.
  • PAGA Payments are calculated based on the number of pay periods you worked during the PAGA Period.

If you qualify for both groups, your settlement check may include both a Class Payment and a PAGA Payment.
