If you’ve recently bought climbing gear, check your carabiners. C.A.M.P. is recalling its Nimbus Lock Carabiners due to a serious safety risk — the gate may not close properly, increasing the risk of a fall.

Over 12,000 units are affected in the U.S.

What’s Being Recalled and Why

Product: Nimbus Lock Carabiners by C.A.M.P. USA Inc.
Issue: The automatic closing mechanism can break, which means the gate might stay open.
Risk: This poses a fall hazard, potentially leading to serious injury or death.
Reports: 21 incidents of the gate breaking have been reported — no injuries so far.

Which Products Are Affected

The recall includes Nimbus Lock Carabiners in Gun Metal/Green, Gun Metal/Fuchsia, and Gun Metal/Blue. They were sold:
  • Individually
  • As part of:
    • Nimbus Lock 3 Pack
    • Locker Draw KS
    • Energy CR3 Pack
    • Energy Nova Pack

Only the carabiners themselves are affected, not the full kits.

What You Should Do

If you have one of these carabiners:

  1. Stop using it immediately.
  2. Visit this page to complete the recall form.
  3. Fill out the recall form and print a prepaid return shipping label.
  4. Send your carabiner back to C.A.M.P.
    • If it passes inspection, it will be returned.
    • If it fails inspection, you’ll get a free replacement.
