Major Ford Recall — 100,000 Sedans Pulled for Safety Fix

Ford is recalling more than 101,000 Taurus sedans after discovering that the front door B-pillar trim appliques (decorative panels) may come loose while driving. Loose trim pieces can detach and create a road hazard for other drivers.

The good news: no accidents or injuries have been reported so far. But if you own one of these vehicles, you’ll want to take action right away.

Which Products Are Affected

  • Vehicles: 2016–2019 Ford Taurus

  • Production dates: July 25, 2016 – March 1, 2019

  • Recall size: 101,944 vehicles

  • Important: Vehicles were not produced in VIN order, so the only way to know if your car is included is to:

    • Call Ford’s customer service at 1-866-436-7332, or

    • Contact your local Ford or Lincoln dealer, who can check using Ford’s OASIS database.

What You Should Do

  1. Stop driving? No — this recall does not advise you to stop driving.

  2. Check your vehicle: Contact your dealer or Ford customer service to confirm if your car is included.
