Heads-Up: IBC Combi Boilers Recalled, Free In-Home Repair Offered

If you own an IBC CX Series Combi Boiler, check your model number right away. About 1,100 boilers in the U.S. (plus 880 in Canada) are being recalled because the hot water may get hotter than the temperature set on the control panel, creating a burn hazard.

What’s Being Recalled and Why

The recall involves IBC CX-199 and CX-150 Combi Boilers, compact residential gas boilers that provide central heating and hot water.

 

The issue: Hot water can exceed the selected temperature, putting users at risk of burns.

 

  • Incidents reported: Five cases of fluctuating water temperature.

  • Injuries reported: None.

Which Products Are Affected

Only certain CX-199 and CX-150 models with specific serial numbers are included.

 

  • CX Series manufactured April 2023 – April 2024

    • CX 199-NG (010-130A1): Serial nos. ICGFSW1-0199-230400064 to ICGFSW1-0199-240300821

    • CX 199-LP (010-131A1): Serial nos. ICGFSW1-0199-230700336 to ICGFSW1-0199-240400827

    • CX 150-NG (010-132A1): Serial nos. ICGFSW1-0150-230500056 to ICGFSW1-0150-240400582

  • CX Series manufactured June 2024 – April 2025

    • CX 199-NG (010-130A1): Serial nos. I262400165 to I162500429

    • CX 199-LP (010-131A1): Serial nos. I262400137 to I162500430

    • CX 150-NG (010-132A1): Serial nos. I292400198 to I102500001

    • CX 150-LP (010-133A1): Serial nos. I442400415 to I022500103

 

Look inside the unit on the rating plate in the upper left corner to find your model/serial number.

What You Should Do

  • Stop using hot water from the boiler until repaired. (You may continue to use it for central heating.)

 

  • Contact IBC to schedule a free in-home repair by an authorized technician. They’ll install a mixing valve if needed.
