Hyundai Issues Recall for Nearly 600,000 Vehicles — See Details

Hyundai has announced two major recalls affecting nearly 600,000 vehicles in the U.S. The recalls involve:

  • 568,580 Hyundai Palisade SUVs (2020–2025) for faulty seat belt buckles

  • 31,042 Hyundai IONIQ 6 EVs (2023–2025) for defective charging port doors

Here’s what you need to know and the steps to take if your car is affected.

Hyundai Palisade (2020–2025)

  • Some front and second-row seat belt buckles may not latch properly.

  • This can happen due to out-of-spec components that increase friction inside the buckle, especially in cold temperatures.

  • If the buckle doesn’t latch, the seat belt may not protect you in a crash.

  • Hyundai has 546 reports of latch issues but no crashes, injuries, or deaths reported.

Hyundai IONIQ 6 (2023–2025)

  • The charging port door may detach.

  • Hyundai has six reports of the defect but again, no crashes or injuries tied to the issue.
