Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup Recall

Medtech Products Inc. (a Prestige Consumer Healthcare company) is recalling five lots of Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup.

 

The issue: testing showed the presence of Bacillus cereus (B. cereus), a bacteria that can cause foodborne illness. Symptoms may include:

  • Nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps (within 1–6 hours)

  • Diarrhea and abdominal cramps (within 8–16 hours)

 

Most healthy people may only feel sick for a short time, but in rare cases, exposure to high levels of B. cereus can be dangerous or even fatal.

 

So far, no serious injuries or illnesses have been reported related to this recall.

Which Products Are Affected

This recall applies only to Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup 4 FL OZ (118 mL) bottles sold in cartons.

 

Check the lot code on the bottle label or the bottom of the carton. Affected products include:

 

  • UPC: 7-56184-10737-9

 

  • Lots/Expirations:

    • 0039 – 11/2025

    • 0545 – 01/2026

    • 0640 – 02/2026

    • 0450 – 05/2026

    • 1198 – 12/2026

 

No other Little Remedies® products are part of this recall.

What You Should Do

Stop using the product immediately. If you or your child feel unwell after using it, contact a healthcare provider right away. You may request a refund or reimbursement if you purchased an affected lot.
