Claim Up to $7.50 – Fandango Media $9.4 Million Convenience Fee Class Action Settlement

If you purchased movie tickets through Fandango for a California theater or bought a qualifying Fandango FanClub membership, you could be entitled to compensation through a $9.4 million class action settlement.

Depending on which settlement class you qualify for, you may be able to claim a $3.25 cash payment, receive a voucher worth up to $7.50, or qualify for both benefits.

Why this lawsuit exists?

The lawsuit claimed Fandango Media LLC:

  • Failed to clearly disclose mandatory convenience fees for online ticket purchases to California theaters.
  • Violated certain laws related to Fandango FanClub memberships by offering monthly credits, discounts, or promotional codes that expired after 30 days.

Who qualifies?

You may be included in the settlement if you fall into either of these groups:

Convenience Fee Settlement Class

You may qualify if you:

  • Paid a Fandango convenience fee when purchasing tickets for a California theater
  • Made the purchase between June 11, 2020, and June 17, 2024
  • Are not subject to binding arbitration

FanClub Settlement Class

You may qualify if you:

  • Were a California or Washington consumer
  • Purchased a Fandango FanClub membership
  • Purchased it between Oct. 7, 2024, and April 16, 2025

If you qualify for both classes, you may receive benefits available under each.

How much can you receive?

The available benefits depend on which settlement class you belong to.

  • Convenience Fee Settlement Class
    • Submit a valid claim to receive a $3.25 cash payment.
    • If you do not file a claim, you’ll automatically receive a $3.25 Fandango voucher instead. The voucher expires three years after it is issued.

  • FanClub Settlement Class
    • Eligible members will automatically receive a $7.50 voucher.
    • No claim form is required for this benefit.
    • The voucher does not expire.
