A $6.3 million settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit involving the Rhode Island RIBridges system. If you received a notice from the State of Rhode Island that your personal information may have been impacted, you could be eligible for cash and medical monitoring.
This post breaks down everything you need to know and how to take action before deadlines pass.
Why is there a lawsuit?
The class action alleges that on or about December 5, 2024, cybercriminals unlawfully accessed sensitive personal information stored in the RIBridges system.
The data potentially exposed includes:
Names, addresses, and dates of birth
Social Security numbers
Banking information

Plaintiffs claimed Deloitte Consulting LLP, which operated and maintained the RIBridges system, failed to safeguard this information. Deloitte denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and uncertainty of further litigation.

You received a notice from the State of Rhode Island that the RIBridges data breach may have affected your private information
