Patients of Redeemer Health or Holy Redeemer Health who used the providers’ websites, patient portals, or online forms between January 1, 2019, and March 21, 2023, may be eligible to claim $25 cash and/or one year of CyEx Privacy Shield Pro identity protection services from a class action settlement.
This post breaks down everything you need to know so you can act quickly and easily.
Why is there a lawsuit?
The lawsuit alleged that Redeemer Health used third-party tracking pixels on its websites and patient portals, potentially sending patients’ personal and health information to outside parties without proper authorization.
Redeemer Health denies any wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to avoid the costs and uncertainties of ongoing litigation.
As part of the settlement, Redeemer Health will implement changes to ensure HIPAA compliance for tracking pixels, including agreements with third-party providers.
