Nationwide $1.4 Million Robocalls Class Action Settlement

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company has agreed to pay $1.4 million to settle a class action lawsuit over alleged illegal robocalls tied to pet insurance renewals and expirations. The settlement offers cash payments to eligible consumers who file a claim.

Nationwide denies wrongdoing, but the Court has allowed this settlement so affected consumers can move forward.

Why This Lawsuit Exists?

The lawsuit claims Nationwide sent prerecorded voice calls without proper consent, which may violate:

  • The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)

  • The Florida Telephone Solicitation Act (FTSA)

The calls reportedly related to pet insurance renewal or expiration notices. The Court has not ruled on the merits of the claims — this settlement resolves the dispute without a trial.

No proof of purchase is required.

  • An equal share of the net settlement fund

  • Estimated payment: about $17.50 per person
