Mercedes-Benz $2.8M Emissions Parts Class Action Settlement

If you paid out of pocket for certain Mercedes-Benz emissions repairs, this settlement could pay you back—partially or even fully. Here’s what matters most so you can act quickly:

Why This Lawsuit Exists?

The lawsuit claimed Mercedes-Benz failed to properly classify and cover 14 emissions-related parts under required emissions warranty laws.

  • These parts should have been covered for 7 years / 70,000 miles
  • Instead, some consumers allegedly paid out of pocket
  • Mercedes-Benz denies wrongdoing but agreed to a $2.8 million settlement

Who Qualifies?

You may be eligible if you meet all of these:

  • Owned or leased a model year 2015+ Mercedes-Benz vehicle
  • Vehicle was registered in one of these states:
CA, CO, CT, DE, ME, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, OR, PA, RI, VT, VA, WA
  • Your vehicle was covered by the HPP (high-priced parts) emissions warranty
  • You paid out of pocket for the diagnosis, repair, or replacement of certain emissions-related parts
  • The cost occurred between:
    4 years / 50,000 miles and 7 years / 70,000 miles

Covered parts include:

  • Powertrain control unit (PCM)
  • Accelerator pedal/sensor
  • Charcoal canister
  • Coolant thermostat
  • Crankcase ventilation system
  • And more (14 total parts listed in the settlement)

How Much You Can Get?

Your payout depends on what you paid for:

  • 50% reimbursement → If you paid for a repair or replacement
  • 100% reimbursement → If you paid for a diagnosis only

Also important:

  • Future benefit: Eligible vehicles will receive 100% coverage for these parts within the 7-year / 70,000-mile window
  • Payments are based on valid documented costs
