If you use a Makita Cordless Grease Gun or one of its hoses, you’ll want to check this recall right away. Makita is recalling over 62,000 units because the hose can develop a hole, causing grease to shoot out and potentially cut the user.
What’s Being Recalled and Why
Makita U.S.A. is recalling certain Cordless Grease Guns and their hoses because the flexible hose can develop a hole during use. This can allow pressurized grease to eject unexpectedly — posing a laceration hazard.
Five injuries have been reported worldwide (outside the U.S.) where grease shot out and caused cuts.
No U.S. injuries reported so far, but the recall is in effect nationwide as a safety precaution.
