Bought a home listed on a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in the United States? You could be eligible for a payment from a $28.5 million class action settlement involving Keller Williams Realty and RE/MAX.
If you qualify, you’ll need to submit a claim by August 25, 2026. The amount you receive will depend on your qualifying home purchase(s), commissions paid, and the total number of approved claims.
Why Did This Lawsuit Happen?
The lawsuit alleges that Keller Williams Realty LLC and RE/MAX LLC, along with other defendants, conspired to keep residential real estate broker commissions artificially high.
According to the plaintiffs, this practice resulted in:
- Higher costs for home buyers
- Inflated real estate commissions
- Reduced quality of buyer-broker services
Keller Williams and RE/MAX deny all allegations and deny violating any law. They agreed to settle to avoid the expense, uncertainty, and risk of continued litigation.
Who Qualifies for the Settlement?
You may qualify if all of the following apply:
- You purchased residential real estate in the United States that was listed on a Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
- Your purchase occurred during your state’s statutory period and on or before April 14, 2026.
- A real estate agent or broker received a commission on the sale.
