Owners of certain Husqvarna gas-powered grass trimmers may qualify for a $45 voucher under a newly proposed class action settlement. If your trimmer was part of the CPSC recall and you complete the free repair, you could be eligible to claim this benefit.
Why is there a lawsuit?
A customer alleged that several Husqvarna gas-powered string trimmers sold between October 2021 and November 2023 were defective and presented a potential fire hazard due to sparking or arcing near fuel. These models were later recalled in coordination with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
Husqvarna denies any wrongdoing. However, the company agreed to a settlement to avoid the cost and uncertainty of ongoing litigation.
The settlement offers vouchers, warranty extensions, and repairs for affected products.

You may be part of the settlement if you purchased on or before Nov. 13, 2023:

To receive benefits, you must first complete the free recall repair at a Husqvarna authorized dealer.
How much can people get?
Eligible class members may receive:
A $45 voucher per qualifying trimmer (after completing the recall repair)
1-year extension of the limited warranty for trimmers repaired within one year of Oct. 3, 2025
3-year extension for parts and labor on the ignition module for repaired trimmers
There is no single cash fund. Benefits are provided directly by Husqvarna.
