Colgate-Palmolive has recalled nearly 5 million bottles of Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner after tests revealed the risk of bacterial contamination. If you have one of these bottles at home, here’s exactly what you need to know and do.
Product: Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner (various scents and sizes)
Reason: Some bottles may contain bacteria (Pseudomonas fluorescens and Pseudomonas aeruginosa).
Health Risk: These bacteria are especially dangerous for people with weakened immune systems, lung conditions, or those using medical devices.
Injuries Reported: None so far, but exposure could cause infections.

The recall affects Fabuloso cleaners manufactured between December 2022 and January 2023.
Recalled examples include:
Fabuloso Original Multi-Purpose Cleaner, Lavender (22 fl oz, 210 fl oz)
Fabuloso 2X Concentrated Formula (Lavender, Lemon, Passion of Fruits, Spring Fresh)
Fabuloso Professional All Purpose Cleaner & Degreaser (Lavender, Ocean, 1 Gallon sizes)
Not included in the recall:
Fabuloso Antibacterial (all scents)
Fabuloso 2X Citrus & Fruits with Baking Soda, Orange with Baking Soda, Tropical Spring
Fabuloso Original Apple with Vinegar

What You Should Do
Stop using it immediately.
Submit a refund/replacement request: You’ll need photos of the UPC and lot code.
Dispose of the product in its container with household trash. Do not pour it out.
