Why This Lawsuit Exists
Consumers sued Film Forum, Inc., claiming the theater didn’t properly disclose its online handling fee when selling movie tickets on its website.
That’s allegedly a violation of New York Arts and Cultural Affairs Law § 25.07(4), which requires fees to be clearly shown the first time a ticket price appears.
Film Forum denies doing anything wrong, but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and uncertainty of a trial.
Who Qualifies
You’re included if you:
Bought movie tickets online from Film Forum’s website,
Paid a handling fee, and
Did so between August 29, 2022 and March 6, 2025.
This includes anyone in the United States, not just New York residents.
