If you used a Keurig K-Supreme or K-Supreme Plus coffee maker and it stopped working after descaling, you may qualify for cash or a free replacement through a class action settlement.
Keurig denies any defect but agreed to a nationwide settlement worth potentially millions to resolve claims.
Why is there a lawsuit?
A class action lawsuit claims that certain Keurig K-Supreme and K-Supreme Plus models fail after descaling with Keurig’s own cleaning solution — just as instructed.
According to the lawsuit, water can leak inside the machine and cause it to lose power permanently. Keurig denies any wrongdoing but agreed to a settlement to avoid further litigation.
Who qualifies?
You may be eligible if:
You purchased a K-Supreme or K-Supreme Plus coffee maker in the U.S.
Between October 1, 2020, and June 20, 2025
Your machine stopped working after descaling it with Keurig’s solution
If your coffee maker broke for a different reason, or you didn’t use Keurig’s descaler, you likely won’t qualify.
How much can you get?
There are two types of compensation available:
Replacement Warranty:
A 12-month extension of your current Keurig warranty (total 24 months)
🕐 Applies to power loss during descaling
Cash Payment (up to $250):
If you switched to another brand or don’t want a replacement, you may be eligible for cash instead
💡 Final amount depends on how many valid claims are filed and how much is left in the fund after legal/administrative costs
What are your options?
| Option | What It Means | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Submit a Claim | Request a warranty extension or cash refund if your Keurig failed after descaling | Nov. 14, 2025 (if failure occurred before June 20, 2025) Sept. 30, 2027 (if failure occurred after June 20, 2025) |
| Opt Out | Remove yourself from the settlement to pursue your own lawsuit | August 29, 2025 |
| Object | Stay in the settlement but tell the court why you disagree with the terms | August 29, 2025 |
| Do Nothing | Get no benefits and give up your right to sue Keurig later | No deadline, but you won’t get paid |
What proof do you need?
To get a benefit, you must upload proof, such as:
Photo of the brewer’s serial number
Receipt or order confirmation showing the date, price, and store
Evidence of the machine failure, like photos, customer service emails, or repair docs
Not accepted: credit card statements, altered photos, or serial numbers from the box.
