Costco Recalls Mini Beignets with Caramel

If you recently picked up caramel mini beignets at Costco, take a moment to check the package. Costco has issued a recall after discovering that some containers included chocolate-hazelnut–filled beignets not listed on the label, creating a serious risk for anyone with a tree nut allergy.

Costco recalled certain caramel mini beignets because some packages were inadvertently filled with chocolate hazelnut–filled pastries.

The issue: Hazelnuts (a tree nut allergen) were not disclosed on the clamshell packaging.

Undeclared allergens are one of the leading causes of food recalls in the U.S. For individuals with tree nut allergies, consuming hazelnuts can trigger severe or even life-threatening reactions.

Which Products Are Affected

The recall applies to:

  • Product: Caramel Mini Beignets

  • Item Number: #1181272

  • Sold: January 16–January 30, 2026

According to reports, the recalled products were distributed in 22 states, including:

Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington.

ABC7 also reported that Texas locations were affected.

If you purchased this item during the listed dates, it’s important to double-check your packaging.

What You Should Do

If you have the recalled beignets:

  • Do not eat them, especially if you or someone in your household has a tree nut allergy.

  • Return the product to any Costco warehouse for a full refund.

No additional documentation was mentioned in the recall reports. Costco is accepting returns directly through its warehouses.

  • Recall reported: February 2, 2026

  • Product sold: January 16-30, 2026

  • Issue: Undeclared hazelnut allergen

  • Type of recall: Corporate recall notice issued by Costco

Because this involves a food allergen, the risk may be serious for affected individuals.

How to Request a Refund or Report the Issue

Consumers are instructed to:

  • Return the product to any Costco warehouse for a refund

  • Direct questions to Costco through its official customer service portal

If you bought these mini beignets in late January, take a minute to check your refrigerator or freezer. A quick return can prevent a serious allergic reaction.
