Owners of the Bio Ionic One-Inch-Long Barrel Curling Iron should take note — J & D Brush Co. has issued a major recall affecting about 357,000 units in the U.S. (and another 3,000 in Canada) after reports that the barrel can snap off and cause burns.
The barrel of the curling iron can detach while in use, which can expose users to hot metal and cause burn injuries. So far, Bio Ionic has received 258 reports of the barrel breaking, including six minor burns.

Look for the blue “BIOIONIC” logo on a black handle and barrel.
Find the model number on the rating label located on the handle.
The date code is etched on the prongs of the plug (format: MMYY).
