Spring & Mulberry Chocolate Bars Recalled Due to Salmonella Contamination

Spring & Mulberry has expanded its voluntary recall of chocolate bars due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers who purchased certain lots should stop using the product immediately and request a refund or replacement. Here’s everything you need to know to act quickly.

Routine testing by the company’s contract manufacturer revealed Salmonella contamination in multiple flavors of Spring & Mulberry chocolate bars.

Salmonella can cause serious infections, especially in:

  • Young children

  • Elderly individuals

  • People with weakened immune systems

Even healthy adults may experience fever, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Rarely, the infection can spread to the bloodstream, causing arterial infections, endocarditis, or arthritis. Anyone experiencing symptoms should seek medical attention immediately.
