Scepter Fuel Containers Recalled Over Fire and Poisoning Risks

A recall has been issued for Scepter B62 Gas and Oil Combination Fuel Containers, which fail to meet mandatory safety standards and could pose serious dangers, including flash fires, burns, and poisoning risks to children.

About 840 units are affected, and consumers are urged to stop using them immediately and request a full refund.

The recalled fuel containers lack flame mitigation devices required under the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act — meaning they could ignite during use and cause a flash fire.

Additionally, the spouts are not child-resistant, violating the Children’s Gasoline Burn Prevention Act. This design flaw poses a risk of burns or poisoning if a child gains access.
