Recall Alert: General Motors Transmission Control Valve Failure

General Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2022 SUVs due to a transmission control valve issue that can cause the rear wheels to lock up while driving.

That’s a serious safety concern. When rear wheels lock unexpectedly, it can increase the risk of losing control and raise the chance of a crash.

According to the recall report:

  • The issue is caused by excessive wear inside the transmission control valve

  • This can lead to pressure loss and unexpected behavior in the transmission

  • In rare cases, it may result in momentary or sustained rear wheel lock-up

There have already been 13 field reports related to this issue and one reported crash. No injuries have been reported.
