Recall Alert: Blue Bell Ice Cream Issues Allergy Alert

Blue Bell Creameries is voluntarily recalling certain half gallons of Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream because the cartons were mislabeled. The product was accidentally packaged in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cartons with a Moo-llennium Crunch lid.

What’s Being Recalled and Why

The issue is that the ice cream contains almonds, walnuts, and pecans that were not declared on the packaging. For people with nut allergies, eating this product could cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.

No illnesses or reactions have been reported so far. The mix-up was discovered by a Blue Bell employee while restocking a store.

  • Size: Half gallon

  • Carton Appearance: Packaged in a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough carton with a Moo-llennium Crunch lid

  • Code on Lid: 061027524

 

Where it was sold: Retail outlets in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida Panhandle, Northwest Georgia, Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Southwest Virginia.

What You Should Do

  • Check your freezer for the product listed above.

  • If you have it, do not eat it (especially if you or someone in your household has a tree nut allergy).

  • Return it to the store where you bought it for a full refund.
