McDonald’s Meal Break Lawsuit Settlement: Employees May Be Owed Up to $872

Former and current McDonald’s hourly employees in Oregon may be entitled to cash payments from a $3.55 million class action settlement involving unpaid short meal breaks.

This settlement resolves claims that certain McDonald’s franchise operators failed to properly pay employees for meal periods shorter than 30 minutes during six-hour shifts.

Why This Lawsuit Exists?

The lawsuit alleges that UTB Enterprises, Goldenband, LLC, Donald D. Armstrong, and Lori Armstrong—McDonald’s franchise operators—violated Oregon law by not paying hourly employees for short meal breaks.

Under Oregon law, meal periods under 30 minutes must be paid.
The defendants deny wrongdoing, but agreed to settle to resolve the claims.
