Why is there a lawsuit?
Align Technology — the maker of Invisalign — was accused of entering an anticompetitive agreement with SmileDirectClub that allegedly kept prices higher for direct-to-consumer dental aligners.
The lawsuit claimed this deal violated federal antitrust laws (specifically, the Sherman Antitrust Act) and led customers to overpay for SmileDirectClub aligners.
Align denies any wrongdoing but agreed to a $31.75 million settlement to resolve the claims.
Who qualifies?
You’re part of the settlement if you:
Purchased, paid for, or reimbursed some or all of the cost of SmileDirectClub aligners for personal use
Between October 22, 2017 – August 18, 2022

How much can people get?
Class members are expected to receive an estimated $40–$60, with a minimum of $10.
Your final amount depends on how many valid claims are filed — but if you’re already listed in SmileDirectClub’s records, you’ll automatically get paid (no claim form needed!).
