Godfrey Hotel Hollywood $675,000 Wage and Hour Settlement: Eligible Workers May Receive Money

If you worked as a nonexempt employee for Oxford Hotels and Resorts LLC d/b/a The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood in California, you may be eligible to receive money from a $675,000 class action settlement.

The settlement resolves claims that Oxford allegedly violated California wage and hour laws, including claims involving unpaid overtime, missed meal and rest breaks, unreimbursed business expenses, inaccurate wage statements, and related penalties.

The settlement has received preliminary court approval, but the court has not yet issued final approval.

Why does this lawsuit exist?

The lawsuit was filed by former Oxford employee Luis Borquez. It claims Oxford failed to comply with California labor laws affecting nonexempt employees.

The allegations include:

  • Unpaid minimum wages and overtime wages
  • Missed meal and rest period premiums
  • Unreimbursed business expenses
  • Inaccurate wage statements
  • Restitution claims under California Business and Professions Code section 17200
  • Civil penalties under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA)

Oxford denies any wrongdoing and maintains that it complied with applicable laws. The parties agreed to settle the case to avoid the expense and uncertainty of continued litigation.
