American Addiction Centers, Inc. Data Breach – No Proof Required

If you received a data breach notice from American Addiction Centers (AAC) in late 2024, you may be eligible for benefits from a class action settlement.

This case involves a September 26, 2024 Data Incident in which an unauthorized party accessed or acquired certain patients’ private information. American Addiction Centers denies wrongdoing, but agreed to settle to avoid continued litigation.

If you got a notification letter, here’s what to know, and how to act.

Why This Lawsuit Exists?

The lawsuit claims that on or about September 26, 2024, unauthorized access occurred involving patients’ Private Information, which may have included:

  • Names

  • Addresses

  • Phone numbers

  • Dates of birth

  • Medical record numbers or other identifiers

  • Social Security numbers

  • Treatment information

  • Health insurance information

American Addiction Centers notified potentially impacted patients between November and December 2024.

The company denies the allegations and maintains it did nothing wrong. The settlement is a compromise to resolve the dispute.

Who Qualifies?

You are included as a Settlement Class Member if:

  • Your Private Information was potentially compromised in the September 2024 Data Incident, and

  • You were sent an individual notification letter by American Addiction Centers.

If you received that notice, you are likely eligible.

How Much Can You Get?

To receive benefits, you must submit a valid claim form by the deadline.

The settlement website explains that submitting a claim is the only way to receive Participating Settlement Class Member Benefits.

(Details about specific reimbursement categories and benefit amounts are available on the official settlement website.)

Important:
If you do nothing, you will not receive any benefits, but you will still give up your right to sue over the same claims.
