Why was there a lawsuit?
The lawsuit claimed that Google LLC and AdMob Google Inc. unlawfully collected, used, and disclosed personal information from children under 13 years old who downloaded or used apps from Google Play.
According to the plaintiffs, this information was collected without parental consent and used for targeted advertising, in violation of children’s privacy rights.
The defendants deny any wrongdoing, and the court has not decided who is right. The settlement allows both sides to avoid the expense and uncertainty of continued litigation.
Who qualifies?
You may be eligible if all of the following apply:
You live in the United States.
You were younger than 13 years old at any time between April 1, 2015, and the present.
While under 13, you downloaded or used an app from Google Play during that period.
Google or AdMob allegedly collected, used, or disclosed your personal information.
If the claimant is under 18 years old as of May 2026, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign the claim form on the child’s behalf.

Pro rata cash payment
Eligible class members may submit a claim for a pro rata cash payment from the $8.25 million settlement fund.

How to file a claim?
Eligible class members can:
File a claim online, or
Download, complete, and mail the official claim form to the settlement administrator.
To submit an online claim, you will need your Class Member ID. If you do not already have one, you can register online to receive a Class Member ID.
You’ll also need to provide:
Your date of birth
Your Class Member ID (for online claims)
If you are under 18 years old as of May 2026, your parent or legal guardian must submit and sign the claim for you.
Approved payments may be issued by:
Electronic payment (online claims only)
Paper check mailed to the address you provide
Settlement payments will be distributed only after the court grants final approval and any appeals have been resolved.
