Why is there a lawsuit?
The lawsuit alleged that HelloFresh failed to adequately disclose automatic renewal terms for its meal kit subscriptions. As a result, some customers were charged for their first shipment without their knowledge or consent and never received a refund.
HelloFresh has denied any wrongdoing but agreed to this settlement to resolve the claims and avoid ongoing litigation.
Who qualifies?
You may be eligible if all of the following are true:
You are a California resident.
You were enrolled in a HelloFresh automatic renewal subscription between January 1, 2019, and August 18, 2025.
You were charged for your first shipment without your knowledge or consent.
You canceled your subscription after the first shipment.
You never received a refund for the charges.
How much can people get?
Eligible class members can receive a cash refund for all amounts paid to HelloFresh before August 18, 2025, subject to any pro rata deductions required under the Final Judgment and Injunction.
Note: Anyone who already received a full refund of all amounts charged before August 14, 2025 is not eligible.
