3M Recalls Scotch™ Thermal Laminators for Overheating Risk

3M has announced a recall of about 13,440 Scotch™ brand TL909-50 thermal laminators after discovering they can overheat and pose a burn hazard.

 

The affected laminators can overheat during use, which may lead to burns or fire risk. While no incidents have been reported, 3M is acting out of caution to protect consumers and prevent potential harm.

 

No injuries have been reported, but the company is urging customers to stop using the product immediately and request a full refund.

Which Products Are Affected

Eligible consumers will receive a full refund from 3M.

 

To get your refund, you’ll need to:

  1. Stop using and unplug the laminator.

  2. Cut the power cord.

  3. Upload a photo of the machine with the cut cord using 3M’s online form.

 

After verifying your submission, 3M will mail you a refund check.

What You Should Do

Bio Ionic is offering a free replacement curling iron to all affected customers.

 

Important: You’ll need to cut off the plug from your recalled device and return it using a prepaid shipping label that Bio Ionic will send you.
