$30 Gift Card in the Anker Power Bank Recall

Anker Innovations has recalled more than 1.1 million PowerCore 10000 (Model A1263) power banks sold in the U.S. after discovering a potential battery defect that could cause overheating, melting, smoke, or fire hazards.

 

The recall is being conducted with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

 

  • Product: Anker PowerCore 10000 portable charger, Model A1263

  • Risk: Lithium-ion battery may overheat and catch fire

  • Incidents: Reports of overheating and melting plastic components prompted the recall

  • Reason: Manufacturing issue in certain batches (2016–2019)

This recall covers:

 

  • Model: PowerCore 10000 (Model A1263)

  • Colors: Black, blue, red, and white

  • Manufactured: Jan. 1, 2016 – Oct. 30, 2019

  • Sold: June 1, 2016 – Dec. 31, 2022

  • Region: United States only

 

To confirm if your device is affected, check the label on the bottom of your charger for “PowerCore 10000” and Model A1263. Then verify the serial number on Anker’s recall site.

What You Should Do

  • Stop using the power bank immediately

  • Do not throw it away or recycle it with regular batteries

  • Confirm your serial number and order number to check eligibility

  • File a recall claim to receive either:

    • A $30 Anker.com gift card, or

    • A free replacement power bank (Anker 10K, 22.5W, Model A1388)

 

⚠️ Before disposal: Anker asks you to mark your recalled unit with the word “recalled” in permanent marker and provide photos as part of your claim.
