Saatva Sales Tax Settlement: Missouri Shoppers Could Get a Refund

If you bought a mattress or other item on Saatva.com while living in Missouri, you could get money back—no claim form needed.

Why is there a lawsuit?

A class action lawsuit alleged that Saatva charged some Missouri customers too much sales tax on online purchases. Specifically, the company was accused of charging a higher tax rate than allowed when orders were shipped from out of state to Missouri addresses.

 

Saatva denies doing anything wrong, but agreed to settle the case to resolve the claims.

Who qualifies?

You’re part of the Settlement Class if all of these apply:

 

  • You lived in Missouri

  • You made a purchase on Saatva.com between June 21, 2018, and June 18, 2024

  • Your order was shipped from outside Missouri

  • You were charged a higher sales tax than the rate set in the settlement

 

If you qualify, you don’t have to do anything to get your money—refunds will be sent automatically once the court approves the settlement.

How much can people get?

Refund amounts will vary depending on:

  • How much sales tax you were overcharged

  • The total number of eligible Missouri customers

  • The final approved settlement fund

Each qualifying shopper will receive a cash payment directly.
