Nova Recovery Data Breach Settlement: Claim Up to $5,000

If you received a notice about the May 2025 Nova Recovery Center data breach, you may be eligible for money and free credit monitoring from a new class action settlement.

The case is Glover v. Nova Recovery LLC d/b/a Nova Recovery Center, and it resolves claims that a cyberattack exposed sensitive personal information belonging to certain individuals.

If your data was affected, you must submit a claim by May 12, 2026 to receive payment.

Why This Lawsuit Exists?

The lawsuit stems from a targeted cyberattack on Nova Recovery’s computer systems in May 2025.

According to the complaint, attackers accessed files containing sensitive personal information, including:

  • Names
  • Addresses
  • Dates of birth
  • Social Security numbers
  • Financial payment information related to services

The plaintiff alleges Nova Recovery failed to adequately safeguard this information.

Nova Recovery denies wrongdoing, but agreed to settle the lawsuit to avoid the cost and uncertainty of ongoing litigation.

Who Qualifies for the Settlement?

You may be included if all of the following apply:

  • You live in the United States
  • Your personal information was compromised in the Nova Recovery data incident around May 22, 2025
  • You received a data breach notice from Nova Recovery or the settlement administrator

If you received a settlement notice with a Unique ID and PIN, the administrator’s records indicate you are a class member.

How Much Money You Could Get?

Eligible class members can choose one of the following benefits:

1. Out-of-Pocket Loss Reimbursement

  • Up to $5,000 for documented expenses related to the breach
  • Must provide proof (receipts, bank statements, etc.)

Covered losses may include:

  • Identity theft or fraud losses
  • Credit monitoring or credit report fees
  • Costs to replace identification documents
  • Postage or expenses related to protecting your accounts

2. Alternative Cash Payment

  • $85 payment
  • No documentation required
  • Available if you do not claim reimbursement

3. Credit Monitoring

Class members may also receive:

  • 3 years of CyEx Financial Shield, Total credit monitoring
  • Three-bureau credit monitoring
  • $1 million identity fraud insurance
  • Fraud resolution assistance
