Le Pain Quotidien to Pay $2.3M in Class Action Settlement

If you worked hourly at a Le Pain Quotidien restaurant in New York between June 30, 2020 and December 31, 2024, you may be owed money from a $2.3 million settlement. Here’s what you need to know and how to claim your share.

Why is there a lawsuit?

Workers alleged that Le Pain Quotidien:

  • Didn’t properly pay hourly employees for all hours worked

  • Improperly paid tipped employees

  • Failed to provide required wage notices and statements

LPQ denies the allegations, but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and uncertainty of continuing the case.

You’re included if you:

  • Worked as an hourly employee at a Le Pain Quotidien restaurant in New York

How much can people get?

  • Payments will be based on your hours worked during the class period

  • The fund is split: 57% for tipped employees, 43% for hourly employees

  • Minimum payment: $50

  • Payments may be made in up to three installments (first about 40 days after final approval, then July 2026, and July 2027 if needed)
