G.Skill $2.4M DDR4 & DDR5 Memory Settlement – No Proof Needed

If you bought a G.Skill DDR4 or DDR5 desktop memory product, you could be eligible for a share of a $2.4 million settlement. This post breaks down what you need to know, who qualifies, and how to act — fast.

Why the Lawsuit Exists?

The lawsuit claims G.Skill advertised certain DDR4 and DDR5 memory speeds as “out of the box” when, according to plaintiffs, they required adjustments like overclocking or BIOS tweaks to reach those speeds.

G.Skill denies any wrongdoing, and the court has not decided who is right. The settlement is not an admission of liability — it’s a way to avoid the time, cost, and uncertainty of further litigation.

Who Qualifies?

You may be included if you:

  1. Purchased a G.Skill DDR4 desktop memory product with a rated speed over 2133 MHz, or a G.Skill DDR5 desktop memory product with a rated speed over 4800 MHz.
  2. Purchased while living in the United States.
  3. Purchased between January 31, 2018, and January 7, 2026.

Note: If you don’t have proof of purchase, you can claim up to five products.

How Much Can You Get?

All eligible claimants will receive a pro rata share of the $2.4 million Settlement Fund.

The final payment depends on:

  • Number of valid claims filed
  • Administration costs and legal fees
  • Maximums for claimants without purchase proof

What Changes G.Skill Will Make

If the settlement is approved, G.Skill will:

  • Update packaging, product pages, and reseller specifications
  • List memory speeds as “up to” speeds with a note:
“Requires overclocking/BIOS adjustments. Maximum speed and performance depend on system components, including the motherboard and CPU.”

If you purchased eligible G.Skill DDR4 or DDR5 desktop memory, now is the time to act. Submitting a claim ensures you don’t miss your chance to get money from this settlement.
