If you lived in Alabama, California, Illinois, Indiana, Nevada, Ohio, or South Dakota and your InsideView “people” profile was shown to a free user without your consent, you may be eligible for money from a $3.7 million settlement.
Why is there a lawsuit?
A class action lawsuit alleged that Demandbase, Inc. and InsideView Technologies, Inc. used people’s personal information — like names, job titles, places of work, education, and contact details — in teaser profiles to encourage subscription sales.
The claim: this violated right-of-publicity laws in several states.
Demandbase and InsideView deny wrongdoing but agreed to settle.
Who qualifies?
You may be included if you:
Were a resident of Alabama, California, Illinois, Indiana, Nevada, Ohio, or South Dakota
Were not a registered user of InsideView or Demandbase
Had your InsideView “people” profile viewed by a free user during the class period:
- December 2019 – February 2022 (Alabama, California, Indiana, South Dakota)
December 2020 – February 2022 (Illinois)
December 2017 – February 2022 (Nevada, Ohio)
