If you had a California Way2Go prepaid Mastercard and your dispute over an unauthorized transaction was denied, you could be eligible for money from a new class action settlement.
This settlement is worth almost $2 million and payments will go directly to affected cardholders.
Why is there a lawsuit?
The lawsuit claimed that Comerica Bank and Conduent State & Local Solutions, Inc. violated the Electronic Funds Transfer Act and California’s Unfair Competition Law, and broke their contract with cardholders by wrongly denying disputes over unauthorized Way2Go card transactions for “conflicting information.”
Comerica and Conduent deny any wrongdoing, but agreed to settle to avoid further litigation.
Who qualifies?
You may be part of the settlement if between July 20, 2020 and now you:
Had a California Way2Go prepaid Mastercard
Disputed an unauthorized transaction
Had your dispute denied due to conflicting information
How much can people get?
Payments will be based on your denied dispute amount.
Class members will receive about 73% of the transaction(s) disputed.
Example: If you disputed $1,000, you could receive around $730.
If money remains after the first round, a second payment may be issued.
No claim form is required. Eligible cardholders will be paid automatically.
What Are Your Options?
