If you have frozen chicken fried rice in your freezer, now is the time to check the label. A large recall has been issued due to possible glass contamination.
Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. is recalling approximately 3,370,530 pounds of frozen not ready-to-eat (NRTE) chicken fried rice products.
The issue was discovered after the company received four consumer complaints reporting glass found in the product.
Important:
- No confirmed injuries have been reported
- Anyone concerned about an injury should contact a healthcare provider
- The recall was announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS)
FSIS is concerned that some of the recalled products may still be in retailers’ or consumers’ freezers.
Which Products Are Affected
The recalled products were produced between September 8, 2025 and November 17, 2025. They bear establishment number P-18356 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

20-oz. (1 lb. 4 oz.) plastic bag packages of frozen
“TRADER JOE’S Chicken Fried Rice with stir fried rice, vegetables, seasoned dark chicken meat and eggs”BEST BY dates: 9/8/2026 through 11/17/2026
The Trader Joe’s product was shipped to retail locations nationwide.
What You Should Do
If you have one of the affected products, Do NOT consume it. Either throw it away, or return it to the place of purchase
Do not attempt to cook or inspect the food for glass. Follow the recall instructions and dispose of it safely.
